In 1981, California\u2019s Central Valley was a haven for lowered vehicles, especially lowered trucks. In order to achieve the lowered look, one would have to cut or heat the vehicle\u2019s springs, which compromised ride quality.  As a solution to poor ride issues, Western Chassis developed the first drop spindle for the 1955-1957 model Chevy passenger cars.
