A common modification among sport trucks and possibly the most popular is that of a lowered suspension. Lowering a truck has two main benefits: a lower center of gravity for increased handling and appearance. A drop spindle will help place the vehicle&#8217;s axle higher up in comparison to the wheels and therefore lower the vehicle by the designated height. Western Chassis has a multitude of drop spindles at different drop heights for various trucks. Coils come in different variations and typically, the stiffer the coil, the stiffer the ride. However, the benefit of a stiff coil is better handling. Finding a balance between a stiff and soft coil comes down to preference. While the coil springs work just as a spring would to absorb any harsh ride that goes to the truck&#8217;s cabin, it is the shocks that keep the coil springs from continually oscillating. Unlike coil springs, they elongate while they compress in order to soften a truck&#8217;s ride and provide comfort. Western Chassis offers replacement leaf springs for the ride height of your choice. In order to drop your truck&#8217;s height a significant amount, the axle needs to be moved up. However, it can only be moved up so much before it interferes with the leaf springs. In comes flip kits.
